Bill Hoopes, retired U.S. Navy Chief, author, mindset coach, and founder of Lead Your Journey, joins The Youth Sports Parenting Tribe to share his remarkable life journey, what drives him, and how he inspires athletes and parents to lead with purpose.
Bill Hoopes is a retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer who served 20 years, rising through the ranks after enlisting at age 19. Raised in a single-parent household, he left high school at 16 to help support his family, later earning his GED, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Child Development, and a Master’s in Juvenile Policy and Leadership.
After retiring from the Navy and moving to Florida, his daughter’s involvement in softball led him into youth sports. He now serves as Florida State Director for Premier Girls Fastpitch (PGF), organizing high-level tournaments across the state. Bill is also the founder of Lead Your Journey and the #60ForMe movement — a performance and mindset coaching program designed to help athletes develop mental toughness, confidence, leadership, and personal growth. He is the author of several books, including Leading Her Game, a parent’s guide to purposeful support in youth sports.
